Ying is a PhD graduate and researcher in the Business Research Institute with a particular interest in crowdfunding and entrepreneurial studies. She holds a PhD from the Univesity of Chester, an MBA in Global Financial Services from Coventry University, an MA in International Financial Analysis and a BA in Accounting and Finance from Newcastle University. She is also an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants candidate and has previously worked in a financial consultancy business. After a time working in the private sector, Ying has reconnected with her passion for learning and has been leading her own research project as part of her doctorate here at the BRI.
She is currently focusing on entrepreneurial implications of reward-based crowdfunding as an alternative funding source for start-up businesses as part of her PhD Thesis.
