Business Research Institute China Centre runs a FOUR WEEK virtual work experience project with British businesses from 29 June 2020 to 24 July 2020.

What is the UK Business/Employer?

Meris Education is a branch of Meris Capital Ltd based in London.  It was started by current and past educators with the mission to maximise the power of youth around the world, through the Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural development of young people.Their goal is to nurture the development of globally aware, socially responsible, intrepid entrepreneurs – in particular, female entrepreneurs – between the ages of 15 and 18, through an interactive, mentored business development course. The Meris Education has a project to conduct market research and analysis, marketing test, marketing strategy planning and development.

 

What are the requirements?

The Meris Education proposition would suit students who are interested in their mission of innovating new forms and methods of education, learning and the equipping young entrepreneurs. Specifically –

  1. Research, data analysis and its application
  2. Marketing through new, creative, digital channels to students aged 15 to 18 years old
  3. Strategic development and planning – taking a concept from ‘great idea’ to product

 

Preferred skills

  • Quick learner and social media frequent user
  • Good computer desktop research skills and report writing skills
  • Analytical skills and communication skills
  • Team work
  • And other your personal strengths (if you don’t have any of the skills mentioned above, don’t worry, you can e-mail us what you are good at, come on and have a try)

What does BRICC Virtual Work Experience work involve?

  1. You will have a daily stand up zoom meeting with the Meris Education CEO for your personal mentoring and direction and assessment.
  2. You will deliver a presentation and complete your 3-year Career Development Plan at the end.
  3. You may meet the Board Members online for a pitch re future work opportunities.
  4. You will acquire different skills that crucial for future work and boost your confidence and have the opportunity to join a long term research initiative.

 

Week One: Competitor Research

Week Two: Launch a pilot project to test and validate the offer

Week Three: Produce an ongoing marketing and development strategy

Week Four: Feedback and Personal Pitch
